Finally some great new additions were added to the Half byte Loader. In this new stable revision HBL r93 has a new themed menu as you can see here, (previously made in r92), which in time we will be able to update custom themes for our half byte loader. Also, a lot has changed since r85, for instance you will be able to exit your games and return to the HBL Menu as well as the ability to run some great homebrew like Quake as well as the newly added compatibility to play Counter Strike PSP.

so i take it that this revision can not play iso/cso games? cuz i got a alot of umd’s from when i had my psp2000 (that now dosnt work for crap) that i want to put on my psp go wich i bout thinking i was going to be able to show i own the game on PSN and i culd jst download it on my psp go but most games are not even on there like flatout headon for example they got a stupid demo but not the game and i have the umd but the psp go dosnt have a umd slot boy sony jst loves to crap on there customers

No you won’t, simply because PSN is a OFW 6.30 only now. It patched the Exploit so either you stay 6.20, or you already have 6.30 and have to wait even longer to do these things.

No you do not need CFW in order to do this. You need OFW 6.20 or lower, with patapon 2 demo Exploit,then download HBL. HBL goes in the ROOT folder of your psp, meaning the very first folder. For example:
Connect the PSP to the computer, then go into usb mode. Open to view files, This beginning location of the drive: ( where you see the PSP, MUSIC, VIDEO, PICTURE directories)is what is called ROOT. Place the HBL folder and the h.bin file separately in the ROOT meaning, do not put h.bin in the HBL folder.

If you have an eboot file outside of the quake folder than you extracted it wrong. Just click the option extract here from the Quake.rar and put that folder in PSP/GAME and you are done.

It’s fake. You have to be careful with this kind of stuff, first of all there is no straight tutorial for this which proves it’s fake, two if it wasn’t it would spread like wildfire people making tutorial vids etc etc. Think about it, the oldest video for this so called CFW is in Dec 2009. It’s July 2010. Don’t get caught up in that stuff because those are the types of things that get your psp bricked once Flash 0 is writable you will have to watch out for fake CFWs a lot.

i installed the hbl and got it to work perfectly
Although I was playing the Counter Strike game shown in the video and I wanted to plug it into my computer to put some more homebrews on it so I hit the PS button and selected Quit Game and my PSP Go is stuck at the Please Wait… screen.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Its the N1001 and it was updated once since bought in January (not the most recent firmware)

I fixed it I believe, I held the power switch up until it turned off. lol should’ve tried that first I suppose but It took about 10 seconds though instead of the usual 2 or 3.

CFW is not out for the psp go yet. In terms of HBL r93, yes you have to power off to exit it now. Possibly in the next revision this will be fixed.

Hi Grimm! I’m doing something wrong and don’t know what exactly(wrong). HBL and h.bin in root, exploit in /PSP/SAVEDATA , Patapon in GAME. I see quake and cs on menu, when press X -message:The game cannot be started, The data is corrupted. I don’t know nothing about gaming . My son got it as a gift and I want to kill this friend, because Sony is out of control with prices. Its PSP GO with 6.20. Any help appreciated.THX!

You have to start the Patapon 2 demo and then load the save game. Then press any button when it says to and then press the right trigger. That should show the hbl loading screen and then you should see the names of installed homebrews. Use the D pad to go up and down and presss X to load a homebrew. To exit back to the main screen you can either power off the PSP by holding the switch for a few seconds or by selecting quit from somewhere in the homebrew and then pressing triangle at the hbl screen. Hope that helps!

This does nothing to the firmware that I know of. All it does it makes the Patapon 2 demo load homebrews. You will be unable to use the Playstation Store or even sign on from your PSP unless you update to 6.30 although there is a way to still get on the Playstation Store. You can access the Playstation Store on your computer via Media Go and then transfer the files over to your PSP (pretty sure Media Go downloads and installs automatically although you may have to tell it to transfer the files over) Best of luck to you!

I installed my Patapon exploit right, since the hello world screen comes up when i start the save game, but why does my psp crash when i try to run the half bite loader? i tried everything already, but nothing works. it just keeps crashing.

there is no “Hello world” screen anymore, there is the hacked patapon level that tells you to press R, then it should load. Do you have the h.bin and hbl folder in the root of the ms?

no, you can’t get illegal iso/cso games yet, and the HBL team will not add that compatibility, though there are some that are trying to get an iso loader to work, search google for Koens Loader to find the official forum.
