Hello world for the PSP Go – PSP Go is Hacked!

PSP Go - Proudly displays Hello Go! (Hello world)

PSP Go - Proudly displays Hello Go! (Hello world)

To further back up his exploit and prove its not a big fake. FreePlay has released a Hello Go! PSP video. Basiclly the Hello World user kernel we have become use too seeing when previous models were able to run user kernels. Basically the PSP Go is hack in a way, not not competently. Could this lead to a HEN (Homebrew Enabler?) No one knows, well maybe FreePlay. For now sit back and lets see what happens.

Isn’t the PSP Go already seeming that tad bit cooler now? Watch the below, PSP Go history in the making.

I wouldn’t get to excited just yet guys, don’t forget all games are purchased through the psn store and you have to update to the latest version of firmware in order to access.

The second someone releases an exploit to the public, sony can yank the game from the network patch it or release firmware patch.

I think our only bet will be an actual firmware exploit… If even possible…

Use the exploit to it’s connector. For example, if it’s a save state, don’t tell the game, tell what’s affected.

Good grief! Do these people want to kill Sony and the PSP? I want the ability to do what I want with the hardware too but hacking the PSPGo this early could hurt Sony irreparably. Do we want Sony to scrap the PSP and developers to halt the production of games for it? Slow down!

Eh… What? It is completely impossible to understand your comment. However, I’ll give it a go. (pun intended)

      “why to hack psp go…….”
      - When the British mountaineer George Leigh Mallory was asked why he wanted to climb Mount Everest, he replied, ‘Because it’s there’. There’s not always a purpose in doing things, other than that they’ve never been done before. I’ve always found pleasure in making hardware do things it wasn’t designed for in the first place. In the end, it’s always for the fun of it.

“it is being hacked from compny….”
      - Okay, this is something I don’t understand. Which company? Sony? Why would Sony do that? Do you mean “the company” as in the CIA? (If so, you should adjust your tinfoil hat, it’s leaking radio waves.)

      “is it write…..”
      - I’m guessing you mean “right”. (If I’m wrong, the obvious answer to your question is “No, it is read.”) Personally, I believe anyone should be allowed to do anything with hardware they have purchased (apart from bludgeoning other people with it). Hacking a device is not wrong in itself, but distributing copyrighted material (like pirated games) is seen as being “wrong” by many people. I’d primarily use a hacked psp to run emulators for games that mostly aren’t even sold anymore.
In short: Hacking is neither right nor wrong, it just is.

“there is no umd sloot to……”
      - No, there is no umd slot on the PSPgo. You are correct, but I fail to see what the point of your observation is.

It would be probably be best to buy it early on and not update the firmware. The more updates that are released, the more likely it is for Sony to have patched exploits. The only problem would be if games and PSN connections require you to update in order to play. This would really hamper the use of the PSP Go, as you need to connect to the PlayStation Network in order to get any games at all. Personally, i think hacking the Go will mean a lot of work for the users, as they will need to keep updating the thing if they want to use any of the cool new features. If you want to play pirated games, buy a PSP-2000 (not 3000, it has issues) and mod it. The form factor of the Go is appealing, but you’ll also be paying a whole lot less and have a handheld that’s guaranteed to be hackable.

Thank You For All the Comments. As you all know the PSP Go was just released. At this moment I have no intentions of releasing this exploit. Reason is because it is just to early for this to happen to a system that has a lot of potential. Even if I was to release it, the only ones who would benefit would be owners of the PSP -1000, 2000,3000 (UMD) . Yes the exploit will work on the PSP Go, but the problem is that if the game gets patched it will no longer work… I hope you all understand. Please Check Out My YouTube Videos.

Well, I respect your decision, but I’m still an impatient bastard who wants it now. But I can see what you mean that it would be useless for the PSPgo if you released it now, so I can only wish you luck for unlocking its true potential then allowing us to do so also :)

I agree. I believe the only way to achieve a sustainable hack of the PSP Go is through a hardware hack. If this exploit would be released in it’s current state, it would have to be through a combined firmware/storage flash containing a copy of the game in question. That is not a viable solution, as it would most definitely be illegal by any definition to perform the flashing, meaning no commercial entity would offer it openly to consumers.

That’s what people are working on right now. This exploit doesn’t do much. I think he said it’s just a “hello world”–you can’t use homebrew, install a HEN, use ISOs, plugins or the recovery mode. It would be pretty useless to most people and it would alert Sony to patch up the game. Unless you find it interesting looking at blue snow fall and white text.

I bought the new PSP Go. I have to buy games digitally? FUCK THAT SHIT! I already have a huge collecton of UMD’S from my last PSP. And I liked having COPIES of the CSO/ISO files from games that (I BOUGHT YES I DIDNT PIRATE THEM!) and it was just SIMPLE to transfer the files from those UMD’s to my oldschool HACKED PSP’s memory stick through the PSP’s CFW UMD copy option. And playing it from there. I am dsapointed, No CFW is released for my GO! !?!?!?!?!! and I am even considering just taking it back and saying fuck it. Don’t waste your money folks just move on like I am going to. AND FUCK SONY, suck a big DICK. I hope NO ONE ever BUYS a PSP buy the time CFW is Released and us consumers just saying ‘’suck a dick we don’t care anymore cause that shit was years old NOW

But that’s just how I am feeling right now. Like I can’t have any fucking control over the things I buy because some corporate assholes like Sony for example would rather stick their Ding ding in your ass through their OWN digitally slave controlled FIRMWARE. It’s like MICROSOFT trying to battle LINUX and buy linux up to destroy all consumer rights for FREE software that can be modifed/hacked for a consumers OWN intentons. After all why shouldnt you have full control over the things you BUY?. Fuck these stupid digital nazis. If anyone s to blind to see the fucking point too all this yammering then suck a dick. This is only and always has and will be about the makers of anything you buy, having complete control over your shit. I hope bill gates gets raped in the ass by a evil linux penguin. considering Sony has removed the UMD drive from the Device you would have expected Sony to make the PSP GO ISO readable without having to do any mods. All sony’s done is changed the design making a fraction of the size they have added 16gb internal flash memory, bluetooth and hey have have also change the type of memory stick from Pro Duo to MS micro. is it all worth it ? last week i bought a replacement psp slim and lite 2000 model my original one just died on me i had flashed and pput CFW on it within 20 mins i Dont think the PSP GO is worth that much money
