PSP Go rewards works: We got 4 free games. Heres how

We got our PSP Go on the 2nd of October and straight away got onto the PSP Go rewards. Since I’m now in Europe this applies to us. (Sorry USA users don’t get the 3 free games). The first offer is if you get the PSP Go before the 10th (midnight) you get Grand Turismo free. So hurry there are only 5 days left for the GT offer. The second is if you upgrade from another UMD drive PSP you get 3 free games for a list of 18 to choose from. These are full games. Not demos.

Here’s the list of games to choice from:

  • Killzone Liberation
  • Medievil
  • Wipeout Pure
  • Buzz Brain Bender
  • Buzz Master Quiz
  • SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo
  • Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters
  • Everybody’s Golf
  • Resistance: Retribution
  • Syphon Filter Dark Mirror
  • Lemmings
  • LocoRoco
  • Patapon
  • Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow
  • Echochrome
  • Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice
  • Daxter

Were going to download, Resistance: Retribution,  Wipeout Pure and SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs: Fireteam Bravo. Ok so all you need to do is login first with your PSP Go to PSN download the special theme in PSP Go rewards. Make sure you register it.

Then disconnect your PSP Go. Boot up your PSP-1000, PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 and log-in PSN with the same account as used for the PSP Go. Then make sure you have a UMD game in the PSP UMD drive. Go to the PSP Go rewards in PSN and you should then see a prompt to sign up for the 3 free game offer. See the screen shoots below of this.

PSP GO rewards: Register your PSP with a UMD drive after your PSP GO to get 3 free games.

PSP GO rewards: Register your PSP with a UMD drive to get 3 free games.

Using our PSP-2000 to register a UMD for the PSP Go rewards

Once you download the special PSP GT theme and activate it you will eventually get you code in your email inbox and you can download Grand Turismo for free. We got our code today, for GT and the 3 free games. So 4 games free with our PSP Go. Not bad right?

  • It took 3 days for the redemption PSN PSP reward codes to arrive so you have to be patient its not instant!

I don’t think it will work.. you can’t switch accounts like you can on ps3 and once you log in with one PSN id you can’t switch to another.. Unless you stick with 1 EUR account you can only access EUR unless someone knows of a way to get around this.

FOR ALL USERS IN THE USA TRYING TO GET THIS, HERE’S HOW YOU DO IT:

Step 1. Download Media Go from the PlayStation Website
Step 2. Create a PSN Account
Step 3. Make the country “Australia” and make the State “NSW”, the town “Sydney” and the postcode 2000
Step 4. Proceed setup as usual.
Step 5. Log onto Media Go as the Australian user
Step 6. Find and Download the GT Theme (usually on the front page)
    Step 7. Download as usual
Step 8. Get the GT code!
    (optional)
Step 9. Get a 1000, 2000 or 3000 and log on as the Australian User
Step 10. Download your 3 Promotional games as usual

NOTES Its recommended that if your 1000, 2000 or 3000 is hacked, enter the recovery menu on the PSP and change the region to Australia/New Zealand.

Im trying it too. it just says to wait until i get the email. so hopefully it works. it also sucks that you have to restore default settings so any games you own if you already created a first account on your pspgo cant play cuz its not on the account you downloaded them on.

unless theres someway around this i dont know…

No, you’ll not loose it, its just because your PSP gonna be active with a different acc, you’ll not be able to play the game you downloaded with CAN account, unless you register/activate it with your good one.

Ok After doing some research, This will work. But if you have An American Account ( or in my Case Canadian ) Games bought will only work for Systems on that PSN account. So meaning if you switch back to your US/CA account GT will no longer work.

Also PSN Cards that add credits only work on the nation its bought in (says so on the card) UK prices are higher then Canadian prices too.

so clearly this could work and be very cool , but could lead to complications later

i see. so far ive only bought one game for my go, (final fantasy VII) and its only ten bucks here in canada so if i do end up getting GT and 3 games then im fine with buying FF7 again since its fairly inexpensive.

butyes it will suck if youve already pumped a good amount of cash into your go already…

I’m just wondering how easy it would be to switch back and forward between accounts to play the games for them…. I already have quite a few games on my US account…. like 10 cheap games… but close to $100 worth…

I really just wanna play Resistance: Retribution. I already own the other games on the list that I want to play on my PSP Go…. such as Ratchet and Clank.

Lol, why hasn’t anyone figured out yet that if you are in the US you can still connect to the Europe PSN server?!
Let me explain for US, etc. users. You will need to do a few things.

    1. When you buy your psp go and it asked for time zone, go to London GMT.
( If you already chose america est gmt do not worry. Just go to the time/date settings and change it.)

    2.Make an email address.

3.Sign up with PSN location Europe. *You can still use English language* using the email that you created.
Enter fake address whatever blah blah blah.

4.After it’s created go to the PSN store, and whaalaa. You are using Europe’s PSN. *This also works for other countries*

Now if you have any questions like, “I did what you said but i get an error when i try to download!” then here is your answer.

*Go to date and time settings, date and time, set via internet. (Make sure you have a europe time zone gmt. first so it matches up with their time zone not yours). It should work after doing this step, but if you already used a PSN account on your PSPgo before reading this then you will need to go to your account settings in your original PSN account, scroll down to system activation, deactivate game and deactivate video (if it doesn’t let you do video don’t worry, it’s still ok.) Try it going to the PSN store again and you should get in and be able to download european games.* REMEMBER IF YOU ARE SWITCHING FROM PLAYING EUROPEAN TO AMERICAN GAMES YOU WILL NEED TO CHANGE YOUR PSN ACCOUNTS AND DEACTIVATE THEM BEFORE PLAYING EURO GAMES. ONLY YOUR EURO ACCOUNT CAN PLAY EURO GAMES, ONLY AMERICAN ACCOUNTS CAN PLAY US GAMES.

      yeah… we knew that/….
We are just waiting to get our codes to download the free games and find out the specifics of how it’ll work out. Switching back and forth between US and Euro accounts… for instance. How easy it is…. etc.

BTW, it deactivates your other games if you download off the euro store… at least that’s what it did for me.

It came up with a prompt telling me that games attached to the other account wouldn’t work anymore if I decided to download off the euro store. IT then proceeded to download without any problems. I’ve never heard of the “Time Zone” setting making any difference…. but if it helps, it helps.

for the one who wants to register their psp 1000/2000/3000 you need to upgrade your psp to 6.10 if you want to register your psp. So if you don’t do this and stay on cfw you can only download the psp go rewards but if you upgrade to 6.10 you can register your psp

      I can also confirm this.
You won’t be able to register your UMD PSP unless you update to the latest firmware.
So if you have a late 2000/3000… something that can’t be flashed back to custom firmware with a pondora battery… it’s probably not worth it. At least not until they hack the PSP GO.

I am not sure about everyone else, but I tried to look around a few message boards, and it seems that you need your PSPx000 to be on the last firmware (6.10) to get the reward program working. What I did is create a pandora battery and MMS, update my old psp to 6.10, do the reward thing, then used the pandora battery to reverse back to CFW. Still haven’t received any code, but that may be because of my US psp go (that I used with my european account).

umm…. its probably a little dangerous to give out details like that. But anyhow, make sure you are using an older PSP 1k/2k/3k instead of the Go to register (obviously since Go doesnt have a UMD drive). Problem will arise if you traded in your old PSP for the Go, so find another friend that still has the old PSP. Log into the PSN and follow the instructions on the video. Also, make sure the UMD code you are registering has either an UCES or ULES, otherwise it won’t work. I believe American UMDs don’t have the UCES or ULES…. so you need to find a UMD from another region (Europe, UK, Australia)that has that code for it to work. To check if you have that code, look at the spine of the game box and it should be there. Good luck.

sorry N1gHtWaRi0r, you can’t swap a game from your PSP-2000 to the Go. Instead you get 3 different new games instead. You have to log into the PSN using our psp-2000 with the UMD inside it and quote the UCELS (or something like that ) and then hopefully receive the redemption code and then use your PSPGo to access the PSN and download it.
**Note: not all regions have their UMB box with a UCELS code. It should be on the spine of the case.

Please make sure you have the following:

      - PSPGo (Firmware 6.1 & PSN registered account **make sure it isn’t a US account or it won’t work**)
      - PSP 1000/2000/3000
      - PSP UMD disc (Code UCES or ULES, others won’t work)
      - Wifi Internet

Once you have all that, either :
      - watch the video at the top,
      - refer to PSN Rewards Scheme, or
      - read previous comments
