PSP Go will it be hacked?
PSP Go will it be Hacked? That’s the big million dollar question. If we look at the past PSP’s it didn’t take long at all before they were hacked. Even the non hackable PSP-3000 was eventually broken and hacked. Custom Firmware Enabler, chickHEN or an Exploit like the recent Metal of Honor: Heroes 5.55 firmware exploit is the only way of breaking the PSP Go.
Since the PSP Go has no removable battery, using a Pandora battery wouldn’t be possible. Besides they haven’t worked since the PSP-2000 TA-088v3 motherboard revision where Sony put and end to Pandora batteries.
One the PSP Go is released, would be hackers will start to search for any possible expolits and way to get chickHEN to load. (ChickHEN loads a type of Custom Firmware environment where you can load homebrew games and apps)
There is hope…and we will keep you posted if the PSP GO gets hacked.

I’m not sure whether or not the latest psp’s are completely hack, at least not to the point that they play iso games, but I no for certain that they are homebrew capable. If the PSP 3000 doesn’t play iso’s yet, it probably will before long. The same can likely be said about the psp go. Chickhen is now capable of hacking the 3000 without the use of a pandora battery, so I doubt one would even be necesary for the go, even if it did have a removable battery. Personally, I think it will just be a matte of time before the go is hacked as well. Frankly, I don;t think the guys over at sony are all that smart.
August 14, 2009 at 2:31 am
Oh, and I refuse to pay $240 for it, just sayin
August 14, 2009 at 11:37 am
I think dark alex will hack it, but why have you already made a site for a psp that comes out in the winter?
August 19, 2009 at 6:10 am
You say that the guys at Sony aren’t too smart. Well, considering they have made the only home console in existance that is currently unhackable, I would have to disagree.
August 21, 2009 at 3:55 am
Right on brother.
August 22, 2009 at 8:30 pm
@ToastyConor Unhackable home console? You talking about the PS3? You can hack it very easily. Where are you getting this information?
August 22, 2009 at 8:30 pm
The PSP Go! will be hacked. Mark my words.
August 25, 2009 at 7:48 am

August 26, 2009 at 6:37 am
If anyone could hack the upcoming PSP Go, Dark-Alex can!!
August 26, 2009 at 3:31 pm
@DarkAleX – Alright, let me rephrase that. Is it possible to hack a PS3 so that you can run illegaly downloaded games? I don’t think so.
And if there is, source please?
August 27, 2009 at 2:58 am
I would like to see the PS3 run custom firmware!!! But first things first… the PSP Go!
August 29, 2009 at 12:53 am
Well apparently there is a way to hack a PS3 but it’s not as mainstream as PSP, Xbox 360 or Wii
August 31, 2009 at 8:09 pm
im scruwed rite now cuz i got the psp 3000 and i updated my psp to 5.51 even before i found some hacks to play iso games
September 2, 2009 at 5:59 am
Dude, your best bet is to go to your nearest GameStop and trade your PSP 3000 for a PSP 1000! I would say a PSP 2000 but you have a 50/50 chance of getting one with the TA-88v3 Motherboard! Unless you manage to find a God of War Edition PSP or a Star Wars Edition PSP! Good Luck!
September 14, 2009 at 1:21 am
nope this psp ooks really suckish i dont wanna download games and it seems uncomfortable and i seriously doubt it will be hacked
September 17, 2009 at 4:24 am
My main concern regarding the PSP Go is that even if it is “hacked” will that mean that it can play ISOs and CSOs? I mean, every other PSP has had a UMD drive, a disc for the ISO to effectively imitate. However if the Go doesn’t have UMD drive, will it even recognize ISOs as able to play?
I would think that it will of course be hacked, however my concern is that since it plays only downloaded games you would need some pirated copy of a game in a different format. Meaning any existing ISOs you may have downloaded won’t work.
Then again, I don’t know a lot about hacking it or what the hacks actually mean for the internal workings of the firmware. Still, is this issue valid? If the Go is hacked is it possible, considering no UMD drive or function in the machine to need to play UMDs, will you be able to play ISOs?

Darkelex, i to would like this source for the ps3 hacks.
September 21, 2009 at 3:20 am
that $250 price tag looks awfully sheisty
i can remember back in 2005 when i first got my psp 1000….same price at the time…..even if the package seems good, i’d definitely wait for updates on things to come
(like the terrible 32 MB storage that it came with…i mean come on, and no USB cable? u gotta be kidding me)
although i will hand it to sony for trying to step into the multimedia handheld market, there were definitely flaws
September 22, 2009 at 10:40 am
just hack the psn store and treat the games as pirated games..lol i know its sounds obscure..btw, the psp go is too expensive and is it worth it?.most gamers are teens and young adults and they probably dont have a visa card to buy games. The psn store doesnt sell every game made so the amount of games u can buy is limited..its a waste of time.. No offence.. And, try filling 16gb of legal games and media, wasted.
September 22, 2009 at 10:43 am
but, if its hacked, then it would be awesome instead..but, the chance of hackin it is lesser than the 3000 cos, u cant play umds..maybe new software and hardware upgrades that made the psp go unhackable
September 22, 2009 at 9:49 pm
WE WILL HACK IT NO MATTER WHAT
September 23, 2009 at 7:45 pm
am i the only one that is questioning the authenticity of those dark alex comments?
September 24, 2009 at 4:50 pm
NO, you can hack the PS3, it’s just not the same as the other consoles.
You install Linux OS and then you can run emulators of NES, SNES etc.
Not really proper hacks but…
September 25, 2009 at 3:47 pm
PSPGO = People Should Pirate the Game Online.. they mention it. so we have to do it!!. hack time guys
September 26, 2009 at 1:41 pm
everything is hackable. one way or another.
September 26, 2009 at 7:03 pm
yes psp go will be hacked no matter what it takes…………….
Hackers always love this type of situation (SONY STOP HACKERS TO HACK THIER CONSOLES & GAMES)
DREAM ON SONY WE WILL HACK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 27, 2009 at 7:15 pm
I’m no expert infact i’m a total noob, but i’m pretty sure a handheld console, especially one with a sd card slot will be way easier to hack than a ps3.
September 28, 2009 at 7:27 pm
dear mr. DarkAlex, u are the greatest, my friend and i have been helped by u so many times, i have to agree his words will be marked!! mark them on ur date books, oct. 1 11:59pm on the the dot. HACKED (if not sooner)
September 29, 2009 at 8:30 pm
you know what it is made by humans and it will be hacked by humans
September 29, 2009 at 10:29 pm
For anyone concerned about it not having a umd drive… The simple fact that it doesn’t have one will likely open up many more possibility’s for hackers…. Also check out where the usb plugs in, looks like it might also be a serial port or something of the likes, if so it might mean easier access to it from the computer.
September 29, 2009 at 11:30 pm
yes, the 3000 at one point was unhackable as well, but look now, they can hack it even without the pandora
September 30, 2009 at 1:14 am
“One the PSP Go is released, would be hackers will start to search for any possible expolits and way to get chickHEN to load. (ChickHEN loads a type of Custom Firmware environment where you can load homebrew games and apps)”
Do you mean “Once the PSP Go is released…..”
yea spellcheck even though its doesn’t matter, spelling is still good.
PS: if pspgo does get hacked i m buying
October 1, 2009 at 8:10 am
Dud… can’t u buy games in psn stores with something like gift cards??? or is it just credit cards??
if it is ,, imma cry and buy 3000
October 1, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Well I just tryed ChickHEN R2 and apparently the TIFF file is now a unsupported format by the PSPgo so the HEN exploit is out for now. Also the PSPgo shipped with firmware 5.70 not the 6.00 as we all expected.
October 2, 2009 at 2:46 am
Nothing electronic that runs any type of firmware can be hack-proof. Even if they’re all scripted differently. The developers label everything so they can use it for further development. You can’t possibly think a system based on downloadable games won’t be hacked. They’ve just enabled everything from easy pirating to game modding, which is the first step to exploiting data to run homebrew. The moment someone loads a homebrew file, someone will begin developing a firmware file. I’m almost 100% certain the PSP Go will be one of the most hacked devices in it’s generation.
October 2, 2009 at 11:08 am
I think all hackers have some exploits behind.
so they just release 5 of there 10 exploits so sony can’t fix all the exploits.
all hackers are going to test there old exploits and the exploits they didn’t release
October 2, 2009 at 12:48 pm
i dont see dark ajex make any move since cfw 5.0
October 2, 2009 at 1:48 pm
i got my psp go just waiting for the hacks. should i keep it the way it is or register it get the free gran turiomo and all that stuff ?
October 2, 2009 at 2:44 pm
lol, when has Dax ever hacked something?
Yes, he makes CFWs and a long time ago he made a HEN.. but he never found an exploit (IIRC).
The PSPGo is already hacked. There are a few developers with some PSN game exploits. But they’ll never release it because they are a.) greedy, and b.) it will get patched in less than a day.
Only hope is to look for a VSH vuln (like the laughing man tiff bug) that can’t be so easily patched.

October 2, 2009 at 4:43 pm
if psp go can be hacked it will be the same as psp3000 not fully hacked actually……………..
October 2, 2009 at 7:21 pm
Playing back up games will be way easier on the GO as all it will require is modifying the digital file with a crack, much like the cracks that are available for PC games.
October 2, 2009 at 7:39 pm
Has anyone gotten the version on the board yet?

@ToastyConor Unhackable home console? You talking about the PS3? You can hack it very easily. Where are you getting this information?
From what ive heard theres a hack for the psn store for ps3 but i dont know if alot of people got to test or a public release. Also ive ehard that a man we all know named dark alex maybe just be working on an iso loader for ps3 but could just be a rumor …..I wonder? Also ive heard of poeple getting dev firmware or something to that effect on certain consoles and a hdd swap trick to get debug or dev firmware (whatever its called ) onto a ps3. And lastly theres the infectus chip but i havent checked on it for a while but im pretty sure that it still has no firmware capable of loading bd backups. Did i miss anything some of the stuff ive heard is really second hand though. Also yea linux install and dumping games on linux install is also possible on ps3.Emus and i think for ps3′s that support ps2 i belive there is some kind of swap tricks for ps2 backups but havent tried it yet nor looked into it yet hmmm…..makes me wonder now.
October 3, 2009 at 4:43 am
I might get a PSP Go, but if I can, I’ll install only OFW to it, and I’ll keep my PSP-2000 to play UMD’s and ISOs
October 3, 2009 at 11:41 am
um guys is there even a usb cable that goes into the psp go because if there isnt then well its imposible to hack because how will u get the custom fimeware files to it and there is no memory stick for it the memory is built in so if there isnt a usb cable then its impossible to hack ):
October 3, 2009 at 12:48 pm
Jamibadman, the pspgo has a USB cable + external storage.
