PSP Go to get a UMD drive add-on ???
Now this just sounds ridiculous and it is a rumor. But here it is, logitech are apparently working on a UMD drive add-on for the PSP Go.. First I just have to comment.. BAH hahaha. If this is true, a PSP GO + UMD drive add-on will end up costing much more than a PSP-3000.. So what is the point? If you want a PSP with a UMD drive why would you buy a PSP Go then a add-on bulky logitech drive…
Here’s the sources comment on this:
source (singular) claims that Logitech is developing a UMD drive add-on for the PSP Go. The source has neither price nor release information, merely stating that the “only problem is that it’ll make the PSP a little bulky.” Logitech’s UK office told the outlet that it’s unaware of such a device and that it “may be something the US office is working on.” We’ve contacted both Sony and Logitech for more concrete information.

The only reason sony released the system is so people go buy it buy there games that they already had on umd witch giving them more money and thats all that matters now they dont care if the consumer hates the system.

Okay. I believe you meant to say: “Dude the psp go is the best psp I have ever owned! Okay, It doesn’t have a umd drive but so what? Besides the umd drive just makes a psp heavier and thicker.” Learn to spell and not sound like an idiot. Please post again.

If you think about it the seems like asystem for people new to the psp and honestly people fighting over the pspgo is pointless because everyone has opinions and there is always someone who isn’t going to agree with you. And to state I do in fact have a Go and I like it and I also used to have a psp and no I didn’t trade it for a Go but, there are some downsides but there is also alot of goodsides and if the PSN would add every game like they said they would the system would be almost perfect, but thats just my opinion.

Honestly, can’t we all just get along? Stop arguing over grammer and spelling, let’s focus on the main point of this article. And now, for my two cents.
The PSP go is a sleek, sexy device, and i absolutely love it, even though i don’t own one. I’m working on acquiring one myself, just as soon as it runs emus and homebrew. Those that love it, no one’s throwing you under the bus. Those that hate it, open your horizons and realize that you can’t change someone’s opinion over the internet.
Personally, i think a UMD drive ad-on for the Go would be awesome, if it came in a PSP Go bundle, thus making the transition from old PSP to new PSP easier. I know i would love an adapter so that when i get my PSP Go, i can play the games with my Girlfriend who still has her old PSP 1000 series.
In all, a UMD drive adapter would mean 2 things: It would make the PSP transition a lot easier, and it would make the game library for the PSP bigger, for those games that haven’t been converted to digital download yet.

Also this is just to state something obvious…the reason anyone calls a PSP Go sleek and sexy is if they don’t get laid at home. Just an FYI comment by yours truly. – Kevin from whatthehell.org

I think it would be a good idea to have an add-on like this. It’ll let us use the games we already have on UMD. And what if they make software that lets us put our old UMDs on to the psp go’s flash? Like dissidia for instance. Sony won’t let the company do it because they have to pay some amount per download for them to have it on the PSN. So let logitech do this and we could potentially see more games for the psp go, also it could bring about the CFW we all have been waiting for.

Yo they should design something we really want, they can kiss my … with the psp go. I won’t buy any other psp if it can’t be hacked, and i think their market already feels that. the PSN? HAHAHAHAHA! no.. You can see what they do with the memory sticks, you can get an adapter to put your micro card in a previous psp, but you can’t put the pro duo in the psp go. look i won’t buy such device if theres like 2 or 3 games i can play, cause i would need to buy all of them.. In that case i really prefer my Zen player.

Well another device, gives them more money. But to be fair, i’ve 2 umd games and both run terrible, because it’s umd.. They put a game on there in cso, wich is too slow for alot of games. And to be even more fair, that should never happen, it’s an original game console with an original game and it runs worse then a hacked one with copied game! The main reason i bought my psp, was because it’s hackable. Good luck with sales on psp go and your PSN.

Stop hating the psp go , the youtube reviews that say that it is horrible is just crap. The reason why it didn’t replace the previous versions is because it was built for digital users. I didn’ buy it for that but I use pspube to download movies and it is a great system.

I think all depends on weather your starting with the sony handheld system or continuing with the system.
To put it simply:
If you have a psp don’t buy the psp go
If you don’t have a psp it depends on you.
ps (i just copy the disk into a virtual disk(similar to a .iso file))
I like to buy a game from walmart go to the car copy it then return the UMD for a complete refund.
I have the game and my money
June 26, 2010 at 3:27 pm
That’s freakin sweet how do you do that?! =D
June 17, 2010 at 9:15 pm
Really, we just need CFW for the go to be one of the best handheld systems ever created. UMD drives are obsolete when you have roms.
June 26, 2010 at 3:26 pm
The only thing i dont love about my Go is that not every game is available, like Crisis Core =[
July 25, 2010 at 4:45 pm

August 5, 2010 at 11:18 am
If said drive would let you copy UMD games to memory then…
November 6, 2010 at 5:41 pm
if it would do that then its not a bad idea at all really… so long as its not 100$
