The three major flaws of the PSP Go

The three major flaws of the PSP Go

The three major flaws of the PSP Go

So Sony’s new PSP Go is focused on portability and the PSP to have on the go since its smaller, right?. Plus its the forum factor, being that of a slider. Like a Nokia N95 for example. But there are 3 major flaws, no we aren’t talking about it not having a UMD drive. Were not going to bitch about that here like every other site does…. In our opinion these are the 3 major flaws the system has:

  • The non removable battery and battery life. Sony market it as a PSP: Go right, but after 3 hours more or less its the PSP Stop. And since it can’t have a spare battery as you can’t change the damn battery. So your PSP’ing on the Go is limited and therefore flawed. P.S Why is there no battery info in the PSP Go firmware ??? Hmmm Sony wants to hide the poor battery life?
  • No UMD to Digital Download option. Ok its fine that it doesn’t have a a UMD drive. We know this. But how about a method of loading a UMD serial number or something into PSN and then download that game to your internal flash memory?
  • Wireless speed. This is also a problem of all PSP systems. This PSP Go is all digital now and focused on the Playstation Network. Buy and download the games you want. Why for the love of god, Sony do we have only 802.11b wireless speeds? 11mps. At least opt for 802.11 b/g standard? 54mbs would be fine. Even better N draft speeds, if we were dreaming…. Downloading a 1GB game on 802.11 B is very slow. It will take around 3 and a half hours to download Gran Turismo via your PSP, its a 1010mb download. Better to connect up and use Media go to download at you computers 802.11g or n speeds. Much faster this way. But if only Sony added faster wifi to the PSP Go. This wouldn’t be an issue. Hell my mobile phone has Wireless G.

There you have it. The major flaws in our eyes. If you can get past this, then the Go is maybe the PSP for you. (That and if you have small child like hands – Kidding!)

Keep an eye out soon for our PSP Go review soon, this post we be part of it.

Nothing unless you personally know the person. Then if you did you could reconnect your Go to that account to activate those games from that previous owner but it will disable the games you purchased. And you would have to go back and forth to play the games. Just delete them and consider it a loss and go on from there. That’s all you can really do. Sony does that because if they own another PSP then they can sell one with games and still have those games they sold on the other PSP so they deactivate when linked to an account other than the one they were used to purchase on. If they have another PSP then they still have those games working but you don’t once you connected it to your account. Hope you understand. Never buy a used PSP or PSP Go Pre-Loaded with Digital Downloads unless you know the person and can have access to their account because when you connect it to your account it then Deactivates ALL the Content Not Purchased on Your Account.

SONY wanted to try and push their product into a different market and direction. It was to try and suit the digital age where digital material is all the craze. It also helped to make the PSP even more portable and saved battery life. Another thing to note is that without the UMD slot it was a crackdown on piracy so game developers worked on a more secure console.

You are wrong about the download speed completely 11mbps is about 1.3mb/s download speed, so thats about 74mb a minute. 1010/74= 13.64 minutes for a 1gb file assuming your at full speed and full signal. theres not a lot of internet connections in peoples houses that are fast enough to use N barely fast enough for G, like by my house optimum online is what is mostly used, thats 15mbps down 2 up, 802.11B is 11mbps so your missing 4mbps of bandwidth oh no.

And it looks a nice slider, but is it tough? Or does it brake after 20k times.

I agree… Wireless Speed is ridiculous, but No replaceable battery is BIG NO NO issue.

I think the major problem is that I can’t use my old accessories… cables, camera, phone controller… gps and (specially) Memory Stick…
Why can’t I use the 8GB Memory Stick I’ve just bought?
Instead, Sony forces me to buy a brand new M2! Darn, would it hurt to make it a standard MKemory Stick (and adaptors for the sake of M2 compatibility)? I know, I know… it has 16GB already and I love it.

OK guys, lets out source the good and the bad once and hopfully never more…PSP 1001,1002,3000 etc….
these consoles all play CMD as we know but we also know that they are hackable….now before everyone starts a storm on hacked psp’s look at the benifits CFW,free iso,cso games for psp (some new games Ex: 2010 games are available it just takes a few weeks..big deal) custom apps, snes, nes, n64 emulators and UMD gamming. What the hell more can we gamers ask for? Really what the hell more do you want?
PSP GO facts all games are downloaded at a price$, downloads take for @$%#! ever, no UMD gaming, now before you people that are for the PSP GO users start up a storm, its a beautifull console, comes with 16gb memory,……I geuss thats really all on that. In closing my fellow gamers if you like PSP GO great if you like PSP 1001,1002,3000, etc Ausume!!! but what game console you choose to use is a personnel preference im just trying to tell you that you benifit more from the hackable psp’s you all know this! Just like we all know if you touch fire it will burn the hell out of you. Can we now perhaps end the who and what is better than who saga. Can we perhaps talk about any future portable consoles or new firmware, games, technology with portable game consoles? Hell can we talk about ipod, apple, windows, laptops,PC’s……can we? Well gamers have a blessed day im out!
